Today marks the first full day of USSDA soccer games for your Santa Cruz Breakers FC 2019/202 season. With over  a month of preparation in training all of the boys were excited to get their seasons under way. The three oldest age groups faced Silicon Valley as the youngest took on Placer United. The order of the games for today went :

10:00AM     U15

12:00PM     U17

2:00PM       U19

4:00PM       U13

5:30PM       U14

The U15’s started the day off with a high tempo game. After absorbing some early pressure your Breakers grew into the game and ended up creating the best chance of the first half forcing a fantastic save from the goalkeeper. In the second half fortune was not so good as the Breakers fell behind to a couple late goals at the end of a hard fought contest.

The U17’s battled in an end to end encounter. After falling behind in the first half they started strong in the second half and leveled it through a swift counter attack. Towards the end of the second half they fell behind and thats how the game ended. Missed chances riddle another strong performance.

The U19’s also took place in a back and forth game that saw them share the spoils. One goal in each half  along with a penalty kick save from the Breakers goalkeeper helped them earn a point.

The final two games of the day were the U13’s and U14’s. The U13’s were able to battle for a point against a very strong Placer team. The U14’s fell behind to two early goals in a thrilling game. After pulling one back in the first half the team went on to score four more in the second half and win the game in a convincing comeback. A great way to end an exciting day of games.

Next Saturday the oldest teams take on Arsenal FC and the younger age groups take on Mustang. Both sets of games are away from home.
