U15 Academy celebrates a goal

After a long wait the Academy season is back under way!  Your Breakers FC had an action packed weekend. On Saturday, September 15th the U19’s , U17’s , and U15’s played Barca Academy while the younger age groups U14’s , U13’s and U12’s played Bay Oaks. On Sunday the older age groups had another set of games , facing Arsenal.

Overall it was a very good weekend and start to the 2018/19 academy season. On Saturday,  the U15 and U17 teams held the lead against Barca Academy throughout the matches, both games ending with a 2-2 tie, and our U14 Academy finished with a 4-3 win over EBU Bay Oaks.

Our highlighted game of the week is the U19's 2-0 win over Arsenal FC on Sunday.  Two goals from forward Julian Contreras lead the way as a great collective effort from the team helped guide them to their first victory of the season.

In the coaches corner this week, U15 and U19 Head Coach Ramiro Corrales had this to say, “ It was a good weekend overall. The U19’s had a good win on Sunday and the boys showed some good character. The U15’s had a good start but need to learn how to manage a lead when they get it. Both groups showed positive stuff this first weekend along with some room to grow as a team.”

The Breakers FC academies take the field again when they face Nomads SC and Strikers FC in two weeks on September 29th and 30th.
