Breakers FC Academy Update 2/9

By Staff, 02/10/19, 10:45AM PST

This weekend we had another action packed Saturday as all academy teams except the U19’s were in action. The younger age groups (U12 - U14) took on Santa Rosa United in string of home games at Cabrillo College. The older age groups (U15 and U17) played their games away from home against Ballistic United at Patelco Sports Complex at Bernal Community Park. With the weather rainy and cold at both venues it set the stage for an interesting day of games.

The youngest teams began the day at Cabrillo college as both U12 teams competed in tough games. The 2007 U12 team kicked off at 10:00am and battled their way to draw as they were denied several time by Santa Rosa’s goalkeeper. The 2008 U12 team followed them directly after with an 11:30am kick off that saw them come away with a well earned win. At 1:00pm the U13’s played and earned themselves a very convincing 2-0 win , keeping a clean sheet in the process as well. The final home game of the day was the U14’s who won as well with a 4-1 final scoreline. Away from home , the U17’s played first with a 3:00pm kick off. The boys shared the points as the game anded in a 2-2 draw. The final game of the day played by the U15’s who enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win away from home.

With four wins and two ties your Breakers FC enjoyed an undefeated weekend. Next weekend , all ages U12 - U19 will take on Sacramento Republic on Saturday , February 16th away from home. Stay tuned and follow us on social media for more news to come.
